… yes, that frivolous day where you either get showered with gifts in every shade of red, or spend your evening commiserating singledom over a bottle of red. Either way, Valentine’s Day is hurtling towards us and it can be a rather daunting task to try and buy something meaningful and romantic for your other half. In fact, if you’ve been in a relationship for a significant period of time you probably have to share your bed with an army of stuffed animals of every shape, colour and zoological species. So here’s my question… why aren’t we creating memories instead of lack of closet space? I’m talking about having real experiences, with someone you truly care about, instead of wasting money on novelties that will only serve to encourage your hoarding problem.

Take your honey-bunny on a romantic getaway, have an adventure, do something out of the ordinary… There are so many things available to us and yet we stick to the same old greeting cards and chocolate MO. (Although, chocolate is always a good idea. Always.) It’s also a gross misuse of our hard earned cash. We waste fortunes every year on impersonal greeting cards and fluffy things destined to become chew-toys. So we trawled through our all our freebies and vouchers and found some of the ones we would definitely be proud to give our significants on this day of wooing.
